Is It Bad To Leave Your Computer On The Carpet

I was wondering if i should get a cheap peace of plywood and put it on that or if it didn t really matter.

Is it bad to leave your computer on the carpet.

How bad is it to have your pc on carpet l. Sure you can it s fine. Or a book under both sides letting it hover above the carpet. As stated in the other answers dust at the floor.

Thanks for all your opinions in this thread. Leaving it just on the carpet is safe but not recommended. But carpets are really good at trapping dust pet hair and all manner of other things. I can vacume around my computer that way i can have my psu be facing down because i vacume nearly 3 4 times a week.

Most laptops generate and vent heat through the bottoms of the units. An ex girlfriend of mine kept her computer right on the floor and when we moved from it hardwood floors to carpet her computer literally would not start while sitting on the carpet. And if you have a window in the case you can admire the computer while your game loads. If you must leave it like this try placing a book under the end of it to keep the heat from building up. Its really not that bad.
