Glue down reducer moldings are used when two floors of slightly different thicknesses come together such as a laminate floor and a wood vinyl ceramic or low pile carpet floor.

Install your vinyl floors up to the carpeting until you reach a distance that can be covered by the end cap roughly 1 2 3 4.
Don t fill the void with caulk or glue.

If there is a void between the bottom of the molding and the subfloor where the bead of adhesive is applied you won t get a good strong bond.
Shoot 1 1 4 inch finish nails through the shoe and into the base trim.
Finish the molding to match the trim not the flooring.
The molding should push into the adhesive to flatten it out.
